Neah B

One of my favorite Disney movies  from my childhood is Fun and Fancy Free(1947). This film features the stories of "Micky and the Beanstalk" and my personal favorite, "Bongo Bear". Here is

Old Fashion Love Songs part 1

In this month of vintage love, it just wouldn't be right to not share with you my favorite classic love songs from the masters themselves. I hope you enjoy.
Love,
Neah B
Lena Horne singing "Love" from Zeigfield Follies(1946).

Legendary Ella Fitzgerald singing Cole Porter's, "Let's Do It, Let's Fall In Love."

Although recorded by many, this version of "I've Got You Under my Skin" by Frank Sinatra is still my favorite.

Don't get me wrong, I love Frank Sintra's version but I think Fred Astaire's version
of "Night and Day" is a bit more romantic.

"You're Awful" may not sound like the title of a love song, but you'll enjoy this sweet yet comical tune of romance. This song is from an all-time favorite of mine,On The Town (1949)featuring Frank Sinatra and Betty Comden.

Gene Kelly serenading the glamourous Lucille Ball in the 1943 classic Du Barry Was A Lady.
Here's "Do I Love You Do I?"

Early Autumn by the New York Voices

Autumn in New York by Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald

Foggy Day by Dakota Staton

Tenderly by Rosemary Clooney

When Harry Met Sally....(1989)
Thanks to my mom, this has become one of my favorite movies...ever. It's gotten to the point that I feel I've watched it more than she has (and that's saying alot!).
I love Billy Crystal, Meg Ryan, The soundtrack (which is sooo worth checking out and a good listen). I also love watching this from September-January because its has some of the beautiful shots of Autumn in New York and wonderful holiday scenes. Love it!
I know you'll probably watch the whole clip but, fast forward to 7:53 and watch this absolutely beautiful Fall scene.

Pan Am: Get on Board!

(print courtesy of www.getgoretro.com)

For all of my retro culture/fashion enthusiasts, be sure to check out(if you haven't already)
ABC's hit series, Pan Am. This period piece takes place during swingin' 1963 chronicling the high flyin' escapades of stewardesses Kate, Laura, Maggie, and Colette serving Pan American flights. Enjoy the intermingling, juicy stories and historical moments included(example: The Bay of Pigs Invasion). And yes, You will love the early 60's fashion( those famous blue Pan Am suits and bags!),hair, and music.I have enjoyed what I've seen so far early in the season.I do hope that this 60's time capsule of a show is successful as AMC's Mad Men.
Love,
Neah B

P.S. Be sure to get a Pan Am Bag of your own! Check out http://www.getgoretro.com/PanAm_Brands/Bags.htm
and choose from a variety of Pan Am Messenger bags, handbags, and even luggage for your own Pan American flight.
